Michael is a Senior Policy Analyst at GHPL. His recent work focuses on global health governance and geopolitics, EU health policy and the resilience of medical supply chains, as well as the development of agentic AI tools for evidence-informed health policymaking. Earlier research and policy contributions cover the political economy of crises, populism, and European integration.
Previously, he worked as a policy advisor and researcher at the German Institute for International and Security Affairs (SWP) and was a fellow at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
He holds a doctorate from the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Social Sciences at Kiel University.
