On 3 August 2026, the Global Health Policy Lab (GHPL), the African Population Health and Research Center (APHRC), and the UNITE Parliamentarians Network for Global Health (UNITE) brought parliamentarians and health policymakers together in Manila to discuss the findings of the Health Policy Trend Report 2026 — and to launch the survey behind its 2027 edition.
The session presented the Health Policy Trend Report 2026, a global report co-developed by GHPL, APHRC, and UNITE designed to identify key challenges and solutions in health policymaking by drawing on a survey of 109 policymakers across 49 countries, alongside research evidence and case studies.
The session also introduced the report's next edition, due in 2027, and launched a new survey to capture the risks and opportunities policymakers anticipate for the year ahead. The 2027 edition will also carry its own deep-dive theme — national pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response.
Parliamentarians then shared reactions, questions, and comments on the findings, and took part in the 2027 survey on-site.
The survey launched during this session is still open, alongside a call for national case studies to feature in the 2027 report.
